The Film
Their War Ended. Their Story Didn't.
In 2012, as soldiers of Alpha Company, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, one of the Army's most storied infantry units, ten men endured some of the most brutal combat of the Afghanistan War. Near-daily firefights. Heavy casualties. Wounds that never fully healed.
When they came home, the war came with them.
Civilian life offered little of what the battlefield demanded: purpose, structure, the unspoken certainty that the person next to you would give everything for you. For many veterans, that absence is the hardest thing to explain and the hardest thing to survive.
What kept these men going was each other.
Rally Point Oscar follows ten veterans across the distance between war and civilian life and into an unlikely reunion at Overwatch Mission Critical, where they found themselves building the data center infrastructure that powers the digital world. Eight of them work here today. Same unit. Same brotherhood. New mission.
It is a story about combat and consequence. About the invisible weight veterans carry and the civilian world's failure to see it. About ten soldiers who discovered that brotherhood does not end when the war does, and neither does their service to one another or their country.

Alpha Company, 5-20 Infantry — Afghanistan, 2012
From the Field
Before the Reunion, There Was the War.

Alpha Co. 5-20 Infantry
The Men of Rally Point Oscar.
These are not characters. These are real men who served together, fought together, lost together, and found their way back to each other. Ten soldiers. Eight of them are your colleagues, your neighbors, your industry peers. All of them are still serving — just differently now.

Jesse Sargent
The Idea Man
The documentary was Jesse's brainchild. One of the nicest and toughest men you'll ever meet, he carried some of the war's hardest moments and was determined to make sure the world knew what these men went through and who they became.

Skyler Eden
The Quiet Professional
Calm where others break, Skyler is the kind of person you want beside you when everything goes wrong. His steady presence was an asset on the battlefield and remains one at Overwatch today.

Tony Shampine
The Loyal One
Tony stayed close to home, physically and in spirit. Quiet with strangers, sharp with the people he trusts. A steady reminder that loyalty is its own form of strength.

Dison Ittu
The Heart of the Group
What Dison lacks in stature he more than makes up for in presence. His Micronesian heritage, the culture of family, service, and sacrifice, shaped the soldier he was in Afghanistan and the man he is today.

Nic Czapinski
The Doc
Every unit needs someone willing to run toward the wounded. Nic was that man. Humble to a fault, and quietly revered by everyone who served alongside him.

Michael Maggio
The Unfiltered One
Maggio doesn't filter much. He doesn't need to. His wit, his grit, and his refusal to back down, from enemy fire or a pallet of bullet-riddled water bottles, made him unforgettable.

Michael Ferguson
The Quiet Warrior
Ranger School. Delta Selection. A man of few words and significant deeds. Ferguson's silence says more than most people's speeches ever will.

Sokvida "Vida" Tan
The Librarian
After the chaos of combat, Vida chose the quietest possible next chapter: library science. The contrast isn't irony. It's a window into what war takes from a person and what peace can restore.
Their Story Is Why This Campaign Exists.
Anchors of Hope is Overwatch's national initiative to mobilize companies across America to hire veterans before Veterans Day, November 11, 2026. It is not a charity drive. It is a call to action, backed by data, driven by belief, and grounded in stories like this one.
When companies create real pathways for veterans, veterans don't just fill jobs. They transform teams.
Rally Point Oscar is proof. Ten soldiers from one of the Army's most decorated infantry units found their way to the same company, the same team, the same purpose, and built something remarkable together.
That is what veteran hiring looks like when it's done right. Take the pledge. Learn more about the campaign. And be part of what comes next.
The War Ended. The Work Didn't.
Rally Point: Oscar tells the story. Anchors of Hope turns that story into action.
Help us continue creating pathways for veterans to bring their leadership, experience and skills into meaningful careers in the data center industry.
